63345 Lavacrest St, Bend OR 97701 2 – Bedroom, 2 – Bath, 1216 sq ft Built – 2000, 0.10 acre lot $215,000
Mid-town Bend, which is the close in east side area from the parkway to about NE 12th St and from Bend High up to Butler Market, is rapidly gaining popularity for home searches as the price of homes on the westside start climbing again. The potential issue with the homes here in mid-town are similar to the issues with a lot of homes in the old westside area, which is that lots of the affordable ones need lots of work. This does not have that issue. It was originally built in 1970, but has been remodeled and updated. The updates include a remodeled open kitchen, skylights added to bring in more light, vinyl dual pane windows throughout, redesigned stone hearth behind the gas stove fireplace in the living room, and new carpeting in the master bedroom. Besides the updated turnkey condition of this house it was two full bathrooms, which a lot of the homes in the area don’t have.
The back yard of the house has two concrete patios and nice low maintenance landscaping. It would make a great place for relaxing and hanging out with friends. The home does have a carport attached to the house, but there is a new detached concrete garage or workshop located off the alley. The garage has custom sliding barn door style doors, and is wired with 220 volt power. Next to the garage there is a parking area which you could probably fit a reasonable size recreation vehicle in.
Based on the condition of the house and it features, I don’t think it will last long at $210,000. If you want to check it out you should do it soon.
Great house on a large lot in Southwest Bend.
If you are looking for a house on a large lot in Bend and don’t have a large budget this is the one. The house is well maintained with an updated kitchen and shows really nice. I couldn’t see any issues or things that needed updating on my tour of the house. There is a nice wood burning stove in the living room, but unfortunately it is non-certified and must be removed. However it would be easy to get a replacement certified one from Bend Fireside.
Even though the house is in great shape and a good deal for the price, the real selling point for this listing is the almost half-acre lot the house is on. The lot is flat and completely useable with a garden area and a large lawn. There is also a dog kennel attached to the back of the garage. On the garage side of the house there is plenty of room for an RV or trailer. Homes on lots like this not only in the city limits, but on the westside are hard to find, especially at this price point. I don’t think this one will last long.
