The Sisters, Oregon is a small city of about 2,000 people that borders the Three Sisters Wilderness about 17 miles Northwest of Bend. Sisters attracts a lot of visitors partially because of the charming old west themed downtown with it’s many shops and restaurants. Outside of the downtown area, Sisters is a pretty quiet city with lots of trees and amazing scenery.
For those looking for outdoor activities, there is plenty to do in Sisters. During the winter if you are looking for skiing there is a small local ski area nearby called Hoodoo Mountain and Mount Bachelor is only about an hour away. There are a few snow parks nearby for cross country skiing and snowshoeing. During summer there are lots of trails nearby for hiking and the somewhat new Peterson Ridge trail network for mountain bikers start right from town. For golfers there is the Aspen Lakes Golf Course in town and Black Butte Ranch Resort a little bit north of Sisters.
Sisters is also home to several popular annual events such as the Sisters Rodeo which has been running since 1941, and the Sisters Outdoor Quilt Show which is the largest outdoor quilt show in the world.
